Biography
Formed in Los Angeles during the mid-1990s, post-grunge alternative outfit Drill Team came together through San Jose natives Michael Long on vocals and guitar plus bassist Jeff Watson following his exit from Lutefisk. Drummer Apollo Strange joined the lineup, as did guitarist Chris Etzler at the outset, though Etzler departed in 1995 and was succeeded by Timothy LaRue. Drill Team secured a contract with Reprise, issuing a self-titled debut EP in late 1996; two years later came their first full-length album, Hope and Dream Explosion, recorded with noted producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley.
