Biography
Emerging from Brooklyn in the early 2000s, indie rock outfit Driver X formed out of the remnants of multiple earlier groups, chief among them the modestly successful Idle fronted by vocalist and guitarist Will Croxton. The roster, completed by Croxton, includes drummer Brian Patterson, who had previously played in Lu, along with keyboardist Kirk Henderson of Dirtball, guitarist Phil Yanos from Dangaru, and bassist Joe Marrero. Starting out strictly as a live act, the ensemble hit the East Coast circuit and took the stage at SXSW 2002 before issuing its first album, Super 12, via Reel to Reel Records in 2002.
