Biography
Giovanna Spata and Desiree Washington formed the duo Dual Eden in 1997 and built a presence in the Los Angeles goth scene. Ambient samples and trip-hop textures entered their sound on the debut EP Ambiguity, issued in 1998. A live backing band—David Adjian on sequencer, computers, keys, and guitar; David Gunderloy on drums; and Lisa Arndt on percussion—accompanied the pair for their next release, the 1999 EP Underside.
