Biography
Duawne Starling, a seasoned studio singer from Virginia who had accumulated extensive experience providing background vocals, waited until 2004 to begin his solo endeavors as a contemporary Christian artist. Over the preceding ten years he contributed to sessions for BeBe and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, and Michael McDonald. Once he stepped forward independently, the 2004 debut Inside Out showcased his expressive, powerful tenor together with his spiritually focused songwriting, quickly attracting listeners across gospel, CCM, and wider audiences. Beyond recording, Starling has taken on roles in acting, modeling, and broadcast media, including on-air work for the 3ABN Network and Family News Radio. At the 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Dedication in Washington, D.C., where he resides, he performed the civil-rights anthem “We Shall Overcome.” His second project, the long-anticipated Deeper Faith, captured live at Bridgeway Community Church in Columbia, Maryland, reached listeners in late 2015.
