Biography
Duke Heitger, a cornet and trumpet player, reached his broadest mainstream visibility by contributing to the Squirrel Nut Zippers’ breakthrough 1997 album Hot. After additional appearances on numerous other releases, he eventually launched an independent Dixieland/swing project fronted by a group of fellow New Orleans musicians, yielding the early 2000 album Rhythm Is Our Business.
