Biography
Duotang, the punk-pop group from Winnipeg, came together in 1996 after Rod Slaughter of Zen Bungalow and Sean Allum of Bovine began collaborating in informal sessions once their prior bands had wrapped up gigs and rehearsals. Slaughter took vocals, bass, and organ while Allum covered drums and backup vocals; the pair soon took to the road, secured a contract with Mint records, and issued Smash the Ships and Raise the Beams that same year. The Pros and Cons arrived in May 1998, followed by Bright Side two years afterward.
