Dusk + Blackdown

London-based dubstep outfit Dusk + Blackdown established Keysound Recordings in 2005 and opened their recording career with multiple 12-inch EPs ahead of a widely praised debut album issued three years later. The pair consists of Dusk, born Dan Frampton, and Blackdown, born Martin Clark. Their first commercial release arrived that same year as the self-issued Keysound 12-inch Drenched/Submerge. Further EPs followed on the London label: Lata in 2006, Mantis in 2006, The Bits in 2007, and Focus in 2008. The full-length Margins Music appeared in 2008, earning strong critical praise and placement on multiple year-end lists including that of The Wire. Beyond the studio, the two remain active as dubstep DJs and deliver regular Rinse FM mixes.
