Biography
The cinematic pop duo Dusty Trails originated when Vivian Trimble, formerly Luscious Jackson's keyboardist, joined forces with Josephine Wiggs, the Breeders' ex-bassist. Their paths crossed in 1993 as Luscious Jackson opened for the Breeders across Europe. By 1995 Trimble and bandmate Jill Cunniff had formed the side project Kostars, recruiting Wiggs to helm production of the resulting album Klassics with a K. Wiggs followed with her solo release Bon Bon Life in 1996, while Trimble stayed in Luscious Jackson until her departure that spring of 1998. A shared affinity for classic film scores prompted the Dusty Trails venture, which also served as Trimble's first outing as lead vocalist. Their self-titled debut LP appeared in 2000; the same year the duo supplied the score for Brad Anderson's Happy Accidents.
