Each Other

Each Other emerged as a quirky indie pop trio upon its formation in Halifax during 2011, drawing its lineup from veterans of the arty pop outfits Long Long Long and York Redoubt: guitarist/vocalists Michael Wright and Brad Loughead alongside drummer/vocalist Christian Simmons. High-pitched harmonies paired with constantly shifting song structures shaped a sound that bridged the Beach Boys’ summery bliss and the off-kilter pop of contemporaries such as Deerhoof or Of Montreal. After issuing multiple self-released EPs and internet-only collections, the group relocated to Montreal, where it tracked its first full-length effort inside an analog home studio. That album, Being Elastic, appeared in early 2014 via the Fat Possum sub-label Lefse Recordings.
