Eagle Seagull, the Lincoln, Nebraska outfit frequently likened to Arcade Fire and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, issued its self-titled debut album through Paper Garden in 2006. The record resonated strongly within underground circles, landing the band on numerous year-end Best of and Ones to Watch lists by the close of that year. In October 2006 the small German indie Lado licensed the album for broader European distribution. Plans called for a follow-up release in 2008.
