Biography
Earthlings?, a Southwestern trio, brings together Fred Drake—whose studio work has supported artists such as Daniel Lanois, Vic Chesnutt, and House of Love—along with Dave Catching, formerly of Tex and the Horseheads and Queens of the Stone Age, and vocalist Pete Stahl, known from Scream and Wool. Their music occupied a middle ground between the desert-fried rock & roll typified by outfits like the Meat Puppets and atmospheric forays into sci-fi realms shaped by Krautrock. After issuing Desert Sessions on Man's Ruin, the band delivered its official self-titled debut in 1999 through EFA and followed that with Disco Marching Kraft in 2002.
