Biography
Formed in Berlin, Germany, during 2010 by former Ocean drummer Jan Oberg, Earthship functions as an intense math, sludge, and stoner metal outfit. Shortly after its creation the group secured a contract with Pelagic Records and released its first full-length effort, Exit Eden, the following year. That record’s heavy fusion of doom and prog elements secured the band a prominent gig alongside Torche and later a run of dates with Intronaut, the Ocean, and Red Fang. The crushing Iron Chest appeared in 2013, with the similarly forceful Withered arriving the next year. In 2015 Earthship moved to Napalm Records and started recording its eagerly awaited fourth studio album, which surfaced as Hollowed in June 2016.
