Biography
Echo 7 is a melodic hard rock quartet from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, featuring dual frontmen Ronnie O'Briant and Dave Sharrock on vocals and guitar, alongside bassist Frank Roop and drummer Jason Hearn. The group took its name from Han Solo's code name in The Empire Strikes Back, forming in 1999 and maintaining a steady touring schedule across the Eastern seaboard prior to issuing its self-financed debut, Trippin' on Destiny. Mounting regional interest in the quartet's accessible style of hard rock, which echoes the approach of Nickelback and Creed among others, eventually secured a contract with In De Goot Recordings, whose inaugural release became Echo 7's follow-up album One Step Away.
