Biography
Ecstatic Sunshine, the Baltimore-based pair, function as an intense instrumental unit centered on dueling guitars. Matt Papich and Dustin Wong first crossed paths at art school in 2004, united by the conviction that "there are things to be done with sound besides just experiencing feelings all the time." Their approach drew from Baltimore's party scene and deep sea fishing alike, which helped land them opening slots with Dirty Projectors, Aloha, Knife Skills, and Lightning Bolt. Carpark Records issued Freckle Wars in September 2006.
