After earning a degree from Berklee in 1986, guitarist Ed Littman—whose rock-infused fusion approach sits between the work of Jeff Beck and John Scofield—began appearing with multiple Boston ensembles and launched assorted music-education efforts. He simultaneously composed jingles and film scores while sharpening his jazz skills through studies with Bruce Bartlett and Charlie Banacos. Following his 1994 move from Boston to New York, Littman built performance and recording credits alongside bassist Dwayne Burno and drummers Ian Froman and Tommy Campbell, among others, and established himself as an in-demand sideman across many styles. He maintains ongoing work with singers Dori Levine and Sandra Bazzerelli plus the Thelonious Monk-inspired band Brilliant Coroners, and he co-leads the group Splat with bassist Danny Zanker and drummer John Bollinger. His debut album, the new age disc Sounds of Colors, appeared in 1991. After starting his own Yeahman Records, Littman issued the 1999 jazz fusion release My Window, a promising outing featuring bassist Mark Egan and drummer Danny Gottlieb.
