Edwards Hand, the English psychedelic pop outfit founded by Rod Edwards and Roger Hand, began life in 1967 under the Picadilly Line moniker. The ensemble issued three albums before dissolving in the mid-1970s, the first of which, 1968’s The Huge World of Emily Small, appeared while the group still used its original name and included performances by Danny Thompson, Alan Hawkshaw, Jan Barber, Herbie Flowers, and Harold McNair. George Martin produced the band’s self-titled debut, a prized collectible that benefited from his rare work with pop acts outside the Beatles. Reviewers greeted the record favorably, likening it to both the Bee Gees and the Fab Four. Martin also produced Stranded (1970) and Rainshine (1973).
