Presenting as a "bi-coastal black metal/hard rock" ensemble, Eerie weaves a dark fusion of '70s heavy prog, bluesy stoner metal, and black metal that situates the American outfit amid the widening stylistic overlaps defining early 21st century heavy music. Drawing parallels to peers such as Inter Arma, Kvelertak, and Skeletonwitch, the lineup showcases lauded tattoo artist and former Twilight guitar player Tim Lehi alongside bassist Dave Sweetapple (Witch), drummer Moses Saarni (Futur Skullz), and vocalist Shane Baker (Alaric, Pins of Light). Once the extended project finally materialized, the musicians traveled to Oakland's Earhammer Audio to track material under producer Greg Wilkinson (Graves at Sea, Vastum). Their self-titled debut appeared through Teepee Records in July 2016. Bassist Dave Sweetapple died on August 9, 2024, at the age of 58.
