Egon

Emerging from Texas during 1996, Egon launched their trajectory in the same fashion they would sustain it, absent a consistent bassist. Their Spinal Tap-esque difficulties retaining a steady bass player were already notorious, yet guitarist Victor Talamantes remained the stable nucleus. Disillusioned Leftist marked their initial self-released album, even as the roster remained unsettled. In 2001, original drummer Joey Cazares gave way to Ray Olivas while keyboardist Denise Garza joined as well. Behind the Curtain became the first release featuring this configuration, and the band expressed satisfaction with their fresh sonic approach. Phonetic Disasters appeared the following year.
