Eileen Rose endured a rigorous upbringing amid the unforgiving avenues of North Boston, one of nine children in an Irish-Italian American household. Frequent journeys between New England and Old England supplied abundant material that later surfaced in her songwriting. Early leadership roles in Daisy Chain, Medici Slot Machine, and Fledgling secured initial industry access while sharpening her performance skills and industry knowledge. Her voice occupies a space between the dramatic range of Kate Bush, the raw power of Janis Joplin, and the evocative delivery of Stevie Nicks. Residence in England throughout most of the 1990s shaped the compositions and instrumental approach of her first solo release, Shine Like It Does. The album was tracked in South Wales under Jerry Boys, whose engineering career began with sessions for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and it appeared on Compass Records in early 2001. In 2002 she enlisted pedal steel player Iain Harvey and guitarist Kris Dollimore to create the follow-up Long Shot Novena. Come the Storm reached listeners in 2005.
