Young Ejecta, formerly known as Ejecta, emerged as a sensual synth-pop project pairing producer Joel Ford with vocalist and songwriter Leanne Macomber. Ford’s prior credits encompass a broad array of electronic acts such as Tigercity, Autre Ne Veut, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Ford & Lopatin, while Macomber has contributed to Neon Indian and the cult dream-pop favorites Fight Bite. The two first crossed paths during a 2009 tour; recognizing deep musical overlap, they launched focused collaboration in 2012. Their initial single, “Jeremiah (The Denier),” framed Ejecta as a persona that distilled lovelorn reflections and hazy textures into expansive, emotive electropop pieces. The full-length Dominae appeared in late 2013. The next year the duo adopted the name Young Ejecta after a cease-and-desist from Irish DJ Ejeca. Their debut release under the revised name was the 2015 mini-album The Planet.
