Biography
Producer Juan Carlos Cáceres assembled the five-piece Uruguayan outfit known as Chocolate, which entered the music scene through its 1997 debut album Cariñito. The next year brought the release of Fuego Contra Fuego. Upon joining the roster of Obligado Records, the band issued a greatest-hits collection that spotlighted the worldwide smash "Mayonesa." Blending indigenous munga and candombe rhythms with tropical elements propelled Chocolate to widespread acclaim across Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay. In 2001, the group embarked on its debut tour of the U.S.
