Biography
Originating in San Sebastian, Spain, El Joven Bryan first presented an intricate approach to pop through the 1993 debut EP The Young Bryan Superstar. Building on affinities with Orange Juice and the Wedding Present, the project sustained that direction the next year via the follow-up EP Abrigados. A shift became evident by 1995, when the initial full-length El Joven Bryan Superstar moved toward the electronic textures of trip-hop. The 1997 successor Internal then reflected a pronounced alignment with the techniques associated with Massive Attack and Portishead.
