Biography
Musicians already established in the San Francisco scene joined forces to create El Stew, where they spontaneously generate erratic electronic rhythms, captivating guitar textures, and turntable-derived samples. Viewed as an offshoot project uniting DJ Disk of Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Brain from Primus, Eddie Def of Space Travelers, guitarist Buckethead, and DJ Extrakd, the collective earned recognition as a supergroup emblematic of the new millennium. Early in 1999 the ensemble issued its full-length album No Hesitation on Om Records, preserving the outcomes of numerous improvised jam sessions while illustrating how assorted modern rock styles merge with dance and electronica elements.
