Biography
Electric Skychurch, the Los Angeles-based ambient techno mystics, consisted of composer and producer James Lumb together with vocalist Roxanne Morganstern and percussionist Alex Spurkel. The trio formed in 1993 and began gaining recognition via shows on the L.A. underground dance circuit, frequently performing at Full Moon Gathering raves. Their debut single, "Creation," came out in early 1994, with the LP Knowoneness arriving the following year and standing out for its integration of live instruments—strings, didgeridoos, pianos, bongos—alongside antique analog synths. The atmospheric Together EP appeared in 1996.
