Elijah "LX" Harvey fuses hip-hop, R&B, and rock into an intense style that has unfolded across conceptual projects, among them the 2011 album Rockstar Killa, its 2018 follow-up, and scores for the 2022 films Bundles and Collide. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist who also sings and raps, Harvey handles writing and production for all his work. He further supplies the in-game audio for the Washington Mystics and the Washington Wizards, the pro basketball franchises based in his hometown of D.C.

Although born in Germany, Harvey grew up in D.C., where music became central early on; he began with piano and later added guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and saxophone while learning production. At Bowie State he minored in music theory and served as music director for the campus radio station. In 2004, recording as LX—short for Living in X-zile—he stirred local attention with “DC Stand Up,” a track featured on his first independent release, Eternity: The Rebirth. He also crafted songs for other acts, among them Nappy Roots’ “Right Place, Right Time,” before issuing Rockstar Killa in 2011, an album introduced by frequent collaborator Mýa. Three years afterward came the leaner, more theatrical Eternity: Not of This World. Harvey returned in 2018 with Rockstar Killa 2, a largely motivational collection that included Layzie Bone among its guests. The song “Pull Up” later appeared in a Season Three episode of Succession. Expanding into film work around the same period, he composed and produced music for the 2022 independent features Bundles and Collide. Concurrently, he was named official producer for the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.
