Biography
Hailing from Montreal, harpist and vocalist Emilie Kahn blends indie and pop influences to craft candid, unfiltered songs. She first attracted widespread notice online through a stripped-back harp version of Taylor Swift’s “Style,” which spread rapidly after Swift herself endorsed it. That recording, however, was never intended to define her artistic direction, since she had long performed locally in Montreal under the moniker Emilie & Ogden—the latter being the precise model of harp she played. Her first album, 10,000, appeared in 2015 on Secret City. In the years that followed she toured extensively in support of the record, ultimately adopting the performing name Emilie Kahn in 2018. At roughly the same moment she began work on her next project, Outro, which reached audiences in 2019 and was co-produced by Warren C. Spicer of Plants and Animals.
