Biography
While studying at the University of Notre Dame during her teenage years, the gifted and persistent vocalist and composer Emily Lord wrote, produced, and issued her debut album, Beginnings, in 1995. Recognition as the university’s leading ROTC cadet led Lord to lead multiple units both stateside and abroad. Although Rear View Mirror appeared in 2000, Lord suspended her recording activities to take an executive role in Silicon Valley that allowed her to underwrite her husband’s remaining studies. In 2004 she relocated to San Francisco after accepting that her true calling lay in music; there she gave birth to a daughter and completed a new project for the Jungle Queen Label. Released the following year, Brand New Day salutes the experiences of motherhood, living, and romance.
