Biography
Formed in London by the mercurial talents of brothers Oliver on guitars and vocals and Alex Loring on bass, together with guitarist Tom Meadon and drummer Edd Unwin, the English progressive metal unit Empress AD crafts a dense fusion of post-hardcore, dream pop, metal, and art-rock. The quartet absorbed influences from King Crimson, Opeth, Pink Floyd, and Mastodon while patiently shaping its sound through rehearsals and tours alongside Baroness, Kvelertak, and Bring Me the Horizon, ultimately signing with Roadrunner Records in 2013. Its first album for the label, Still Life Moving Fast, appeared the next year.
