Formed in Brooklyn, N.Y.C., the American rock group Endless Boogie blends psychedelic rock, stoner rock, and blues rock. Its lineup consists of Paul Major on vocals and guitar, Jesper Eklow on guitar, Marc Razo on bass guitar, and Harry Druzd on drums. The quartet came together in 1997 after the musicians started holding regular Tuesday night jam sessions. Interest in their sound grew until indie rock musician Stephen Malkmus invited them to leave the practice room and open for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks at the band’s first N.Y.C. appearance in 2001. Taking their name from a John Lee Hooker album, the group delivered a well-received set that generated further live offers and prompted the members to begin documenting their rehearsals as independent releases in 2005. Those sessions were edited into two limited-edition volumes titled Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, which were distributed at the band’s 2005 ATP festival performance in the U.K. Their first proper studio album, Focus Level, appeared in 2008 on the Philadelphia-based label No Quarter Records and drew widespread praise along with comparisons to the blues-heavy hard rock of ZZ Top and Canned Heat. The follow-up, Full House Head, came out on the same imprint in 2010 and was soon joined by the rehearsal collection The Skinless Ogress Revolution, Which Feeds on Human Sacrifice, a 100-copy limited edition that Eklow assembled by hand for sale during West Coast tour dates. The practice of issuing rehearsal recordings continued with the 2011 EP Twenty Minute Jam: Getting Out of the City. Their third album, Long Island, stands among the band’s most significant works, frequently cited for its eclectic yet cohesive and meticulously detailed approach. Early in 2017 the group returned with the fourth full-length Vibe Killer, again issued by No Quarter Records.
