Biography
Having once performed with Gwerz, Erik Marchand stands out for his commanding delivery of Breton songs. The trio took shape after accompanist Thierry Robin recognized that the oud, or Middle Eastern lute, could match the distinctive intervals of traditional Breton vocal music. Hameed Khan, a tabla player, was soon brought in by the duo, thereby completing their Breton-Arabic fusion.
