Hailing from Sikeston, Missouri, Ernie Nowlin led the Blue Shadow Boys, a combo headquartered in St. Louis. Starday issued his engaging 1957 single “Tally Ho,” distinguished by its propulsive rhythm and fluid lead guitar, yet the timing proved too late for substantial radio support or the commercial breakthrough he wanted.
