Of Mexican-American heritage, Eduardo Granados Rojas writes and performs Regional Mexican music under the name Erre. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he received a guitar one Christmas at age eleven and soon developed proficiency on the instrument while drawing from Ariel Camacho and Los Plebes del Rancho. Whereas most norteño peers of his generation gravitated toward the showy corridos tumbados approach, his romantic and introspective outlook steered him into the narrower, more reflective territory occupied by figures such as DannyLux and Kevin Kaarl. The resulting style merged conventional instrumentation with electronic sounds and textures. His initial release, the 2021 single “Tiempo” with Alejandroo, was followed in subsequent years by more than twenty further singles together with a pair of EPs. The sole major success arrived via his guest appearance on Eslabón Armado’s “Solo,” included on the group’s 2022 album Nostalgia. The ensemble reciprocated by joining him on Desde Mi Habitación, his debut full-length issued in June 2024 through LLC/Interscope.
