Emerging from Britain around the dawn of the new millennium, Eskimo Disco stood among the numerous synth-driven ensembles reviving post-punk aesthetics. Scott Doran, Tom Moore, and Liam Paton launched the project in London during 2003 to counter the DJ-dominated club circuit then prevalent across the city. Their music fused the intricate electronic pulses of Daft Punk and Kraftwerk with the playful, high-energy indie rock of Electric Six and Bloc Party. The trio first connected with audiences through vigorous, sweat-soaked performances in the capital. Their debut release, the twangy disco-infused track “7-11,” appeared in 2005 and quickly secured opening spots with the Arctic Monkeys and Mint Royale.
