Biography
In 1991 the Swedish death metal outfit Eternal Oath was assembled by vocalist Joni Mäensivu, guitarists Petri Tarvainen and Daniel Dziuba, bassist Ted Lundström and drummer Ted Jonsson. The next year Lundström departed to establish Amon Amarth, prompting the arrival of replacement bassist Martin Wiklander, while Daniel Dziuba gave way to Peter Nagy not long after the band completed its five-song demo “Art of Darkness.” Eternal Oath subsequently secured a recording contract with Rat Pack Records, yet the label collapsed and the group was obliged to issue its own 1996 EP So Silent. At that juncture Martin Wiklander exited, clearing the path for bassist Peter Wendin on the 1999 full-length Through the Eyes of Hatred, which in turn was succeeded by the follow-up Righteous in 2002.
