Biography
Eternal Solstice, the Dutch death metal outfit, came together in 1989 through vocalist Kees-Jan Schouten, guitarists Philip Nugteren and Victor van Drie, bassist Ramon Soeterbroek, and drummer Mischa Hak. Their initial release, a split album with Mourning, did not surface until 1992, long after the original configuration had already dissolved. The next year, a trimmed-down trio featuring Soeterbroek—who added vocals to his role—alongside Nugteren and Hak picked up the thread again, which yielded the three albums The Wish Is Father to the Thought in 1994, Horrible Within in 1995, and Demonic Fertilizer in 1997.
