Biography
Eva Trout emerged as an alternative rock outfit founded by former Catherine Wheel bassist Grant Shanahan. To assemble his fresh endeavor, Shanahan ran an ad seeking a guitarist, which drew a response from Bek-Jean Stewart. Stewart persuaded Shanahan to tune into her live radio performance, leading him to be so taken with her talent that he dismissed the singer he had previously enlisted in favor of adding her to the lineup. The group put out a five-song EP during 1994, though significant shifts in membership occurred the following year amid recording for Along Woodland Rides, with keyboardist Steph Miller, drummer Bert Thomson, and guitarist Matt Galvin all joining the fold. By 1997, Eva Trout compiled its earlier recordings into a self-titled album issued in the States.
