Evangeline

Hailing from New Orleans, this ensemble merges upbeat country numbers rooted in bayou traditions with tender, emotional ballads. On their debut record, a five-piece group takes center stage, led by the silky singing of guitarist Kathleen Stieffel alongside the more boisterous delivery from bassist and washboard player Sharon Leger. Vocals also come from Austin's seasoned keyboardist Beth McKee, while the majority of the fresh compositions stem from lead guitarist Rhonda Lohmeyer, and Nancy Buchan rounds out the arrangement with her work on fiddle and mandolin. Prior to laying down tracks for the follow-up album, Buchan departed the lineup.
