Biography
Hailing from Sweden, Everdawn featured Pierre Tornkvist on vocals and guitar, Patrik Tornkvist on guitar, Niklas Svensson on bass, and Oskar Karlsson on drums, each of whom had previously performed in both Gates of Ishtar and Decortication. Their 1996 EP Opera of the Damned adhered to conventional black metal, yet the following year the group pursued a quicker death/thrash approach for its first full-length release, Poems -- Burn the Past, mirroring the style of fellow Scandinavians At the Gates so closely that some accused the band of outright duplication. Issued by Metal Blade records, the album generated scant commercial interest, after which Everdawn gradually disbanded.
