Biography
Formed in Chicago, the female alt-metal duo Evil Beaver pairs bassist/vocalist Evie Evil with drummer Laura Ann Beaver, whose earlier work included Motorhome and the Prescriptions. The two musicians joined forces in 1999, and their trashy, sexy camp quickly turned them into a local club-scene favorite. Their first recording arrived as the independently released EP Smells Like Christmas Spirit, issued to coincide with the 1999 holiday season. The following year they shared a live 12" with the Traitors, after which Evil Beaver shifted focus to its first full-length album. Four Alarm issued that album, Lick It, in early 2001.
