Biography
Evil Kitty's music captures the timeless essence of rock and roll through a fusion of robust alternative rock and prominent guitar elements. Formed in New York during 1996 by Kurt Beran, the band experienced multiple personnel shifts prior to settling on its definitive configuration. The core lineup from the New York group consisted of Keith Rankin on guitar and keyboards, Lou Scaffidi on bass, and Randy Valtin on drums, with vocalists frequently changing. After Beran's departure and a series of unsuccessful female vocalists, Rankin and Scaffidi began the search for a stable singer. Following months of rigorous searching, Jamie Scandal's voice ultimately captivated the members, completing Kitty's roster. Upon releasing their debut album Kitty Litter, which compiled several early tracks, the band issued the EP Kitty Porn in 2001.
