Biography
Hailing from Oslo, the Norwegian extreme metal quartet Execration weaves grim narratives of horror through a severe fusion of death, doom, and black metal. The group came together in 2005 and put out the EP Language of the Dead two years later, then issued its first full-length album, Syndicate of Lethargy, on Vendlus Records in 2008. In 2010 the split EP Oslo We Rot appeared alongside Obliteration, Diskord, and Lobotomized, after which Duplicate Records released the band’s second album, Odes of the Occult, the next year. Morbid Dimensions earned a Spellemann Award—the Norwegian counterpart to a Grammy—upon its 2014 arrival, and Execration signed with Metal Blade in 2017 to deliver the eagerly awaited fourth studio album Return to the Void.
