In 1970 Daryl Hall supplied lead vocals for the Jubilee Records single "Christine," marking the debut of Philadelphia outfit Executive Suite. The lineup consisted of Vincent Unto, Henry Tuten, William Tyler, and Charles Conyers. Their career peak arrived two years later with the polished Philly ballad "I'm a Winner Now," a 1972 release that continues to stand as their finest recording. Babylon Records secured national distribution in 1973, yet the single remained limited to the Philadelphia and New York markets. Shifting toward disco while retaining its Philly flavor, the 1974 track "When the Fuel Runs Out" earned modest club recognition. Subsequent singles "Your Love Is Paradise" and "You Believed in Me" received minimal promotional support. Polydor issued the 1974 LP Executive Suite 1, which gathered the North Bay singles recorded at Sigma Sound Studios under producers Norman Harris, Phil Hurtt, Bunny Sigler, and the Harris Machine. United Artists released a final single, "Hey Pearl," without altering their fortunes. Unto and Tyler had earlier recorded with the Millionaires for Castle Records, Tyler also performed with the Jewels, and Conyers sang with the Lovenotes.
