Exit

Exit is a Finnish gospel ensemble whose pop and rock leanings have sustained its recording career across multiple decades, with its commercial high point arriving in the late 2000s near the celebration of its twentieth year together. The group, established in 1987, features lead singer Pekka Simojoki, who entered the world on January 5, 1958, in Kemi, Finland. Its roster further comprises Timo Luoto, Matti Puttonen, Timo Jouppi, Jari Levy, Jarkko Jouppi, Make Perttilä, Juha Merikallio, and Juha Lehtimäki. Exit issued its first full-length project, the self-titled album, in 1989 and continued issuing new sets at roughly two-year intervals thereafter, including Kello Käy in 1990, Paljain Jaloin in 1992, and Tänne Saakka On Tultu in 1994. During 2007, the same year the band marked two decades, its eleventh studio album Sateen Kohinaa climbed into the Top Ten of the Finnish albums chart. The ensuing release, Tienviittoja from 2008, took the form of a live CD/DVD package issued to honor the anniversary and achieved still stronger results by reaching the Top Five.
