Biography
Formed in 2007, the Brooklyn-based doom metal trio Eyes of the Sun arose as an atmosphere-heavy project through the efforts of bassist/vocalist Jeff Blanchard and guitarist Miguel De Jesus, Jr., the latter a co-founder of Ashes Within. Several years of shifting personnel gave way to a stable core of Blanchard, De Jesus, and drummer Chris O'Neil, prompting the independent release of the band’s self-titled debut EP in 2010. Their first full-length album, aptly titled Chapter I, followed in 2013 and later received a 2018 reissue after Eyes of the Sun signed with Metal Blade’s Blacklight Media imprint.
