French-Ivorian MC Fababy entered the rap world later than most, waiting until age 18 before picking up the mic, yet he soon established himself among the genre’s rising young voices. Born in Paris in 1988, he spent his formative years in the Noisy-le-Grand commune and, following a two-year stint with the urban collective Lyrical Bitume, issued his first solo mixtape, Entre2Mondes, in 2008. Online notice arrived after an anti-Valentine’s Day freestyle featuring Despo Rutti, which led to guest spots on the Cosa Nostra compilation series and La Fouine’s Capitale du Crime, Vol. 3, a recording contract with Banlieue Sale, and the arrival of his first full-length studio album, La Symphonie des Chargeurs, in 2012.
