Biography
Although the moniker suggests a lone figure, Faded Ranger operates as a duo consisting of vocalist Nick Maurer, who previously formed one-fourth of Greenskeepers, and producer Neville Attree, whose earlier, shorter-lived partnerships encompassed Deep Sound and Further. Hailing respectively from Chicago and London, the pair has participated in dance music since the 1990s. They established the project in 2011 and settled in Heidelberg, Germany, where they shaped their melodic, emotive hybrids of synth pop and house. After linking with Tobias Lampe's Hamburg-based HFN label, the duo issued the 2014 singles "Be on the Lookout," "Blindfolds," and "Get Together (Right Now)" before delivering the album Mechanical Tonight later that same year.
