Biography
Vocalist Brant Hansen joined forces with multi-instrumentalist Jeff Elbel on guitar, keyboards and vocals to launch Farewell to Juliet alongside bassist John Bretzlaff, drummer Jeff Schmale and guitarist Carl Oberg. Drawing from the glossy sound of 1980s FM-radio acts such as the Police and the Fixx together with 1970s progressive-rock textures, the ensemble issued its debut album, Echoes of Laughter, on the Marathon label in 1993. By 1996 the roster had dwindled to Hansen and Elbel alone. To assemble a new configuration, the pair enlisted vocalist Suki Chaney, guitarist Lewis Richey, bassist Steve Oberg and jazz drummer Jonathan Edwards.
