Biography
During the 1990s, stand-up comedian Felicia Michaels evolved her stage persona away from the dumb-blonde caricature into that of a soft-spoken yet foul-mouthed provocateur whose humor remained defiantly explicit. She arrived in Hollywood from Colorado Springs in 1983 at age nineteen and immediately began sharpening her performance skills. Early in the decade she performed on multiple stand-up showcases, captured the Star Search Grand Prize in 1992, earned guest spots on sitcoms including Full House, and served as a regular on Class Clowns. Her career accelerated in the late 1990s when she issued her debut album, enrolled in film school, earned a nomination for Best Female Comic at the American Comedy Awards in 1998, and won the award the next year. In 2000 she released her second stand-up recording, Lewd Awakenings.
