Felicia Sorensen’s vocals have reached wide audiences through commercial placements long before listeners connected the sound to her name. Agencies frequently turn to her for both background harmonies and featured leads, drawing on a versatile skill set that extends well beyond those sessions. Early in her career she served as featured soloist for Brigham Young University’s Young Ambassadors, traveled and recorded with her relatives under the name The Gibbons Family, and built an extensive catalog of studio work. That body of recordings includes collaborations with Donny Osmond, Marie Osmond, Lee Greenwood, Roy Clark, Michael McLean and Northern Voices, as well as appearances on the Especially for Youth series. In 1995 she stepped out as a solo singer-songwriter with the Deseret Book release She Believes; three years later she issued the follow-up Without Disguise, which earned the FCMA’s PEARL Award for Best Contemporary Album. Both projects were subsequently reissued by Shadow Mountain. Her tone is smooth and refined, with a vocal compass often likened to Amy Grant’s. She and her husband Todd, a producer and percussionist, make their home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, together with their two daughters.
