Biography
Fernando Grillo earned the epithet "the Buddha of the contrabass" from Karlheinz Stockhausen, a designation recorded at least in liner notes prepared by Ana Maria Avram. Luciano Berio, Luigi Non, Klaus Huber, Iancu Dumitrescu, Henri Pousseur, and Iannis Xenaxis each supplied him with original compositions. Several of his unaccompanied recitals appear on the album Fluvine, first issued in 1976.
